Today has been a very nice, warm day – summery enough to leave jackets and socks at home but not too hot to give up wearing thick wedged shoes again. So I put on this tall pair of Monsoon sandals. Only when I was taking them off in the late afternoon I realised that all day I had been wearing a set of souvenirs I got on various trips and journeys.
The sandals are actually the oldest souvenir of the set – I bought them in sales at Stansted Airport on my way back from England in 2011. In 2012 I bought the t-shirt (also London, but Oxford Street this time) and the skirt (Budapest). And the tote is the newest purchase – I bought it in Bled, Slovenia last month. What a nice, accidental celebration of the end of summer.
