Piran, the westernmost town on the Slovenian coast. A place of exceptional beauty, historical city centre, clear blue Adriatic sea and relaxed nightlife. It’s only a few kilometres away from the town of Portorož, where my family and I were staying. There is even a free shuttle bus going between the centre of Piran and a parking place at the end of a promenade leading from Portorož.
We took advantage of that and enjoyed a nice evening walk along the coast combined with a visit of Piran’s city centre, very reminiscent of small Italian towns. We climbed a hill to see the red roofs of the central part of town and admire St. George’s Church overlooking the whole of the small peninsula.
Below you can take a look at some pictures of Piran I made. The evening light gave everything an interesting atmosphere.
